Welcome to my Bio Page! I'm glad you found your way here. A little of my road to becoming a Massage Therapist... After graduating from the University of Montevallo, I went to work for a defense contractor on Redstone Arsenal. Having graduated with a History/English major, I'm not sure how I landed the position of starting the company's first graphics department, but I did! Of course, this was in the late 1980s, so things weren't quite as complex as they are today. Nevertheless, I managed to pick it up pretty quickly and ended up designing projects that were presented to Congress, training manuals for employees, and every briefing presentation you can think of. I really enjoyed my job and basically stayed with that contract for 17 years. I moved to technical editor for the last 10 years of my tenure (I actually used my English degree:).
As grateful as I will always be for my time in the government contracting world, I knew deep down that what I longed for was a job that nurtured not only others but me. I discovered Massage Therapy in the early 1990s. I was hooked immediately. I began a once a month massage wellness plan. I loved my monthly massage and secretly wished I could BE a Massage Therapist to bring to others what my Massage Therapist brought to me and my well being. In 2008, my dream came true. Circumstances allowed me to leave my position on RSA and enroll in Massage Therapy School. I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of it.
I believe Massage Therapy is one of the greatest gifts a person can give to him/herself for treatment, relaxation, and overall health. I strive to give each massage session my all and listen to my clients to make sure their needs are addressed. I do not have a "Massage Routine". Each massage is customized to a person's needs the minute they enter the treatment room. Sometimes Deep Tissue Massage is warranted, sometimes just lots of soothing, relaxation Swedish massage. Usually it's a bit of both. I use various massage modalities in each session to achieve optimal results. I love my work. I love people. Feel free to call me (256.431.0507) to talk about any questions regarding Massage. And please leave a message if I don't answer. I'm probably in session but will return your call ASAP. I hope to hear from you soon! Below are a few other things I love to give you more of a glimpse of me.
