Orthopedic Massage
Picture
Often with chronic pain, there is a postural element, structural distortion or movement dysfunction present. An orthopedic approach begins with accurate assessment of your case using active/passive range of motion testing, muscle resistance tests, special orthopedic tests, gait analysis, and or postural evaluation. From this information we then present a treatment plan which addresses the strain pattern and/or structural dysfunction which is contributing to your pain either chronic or acute. The treatment used integrates a variety of massage /manual therapy modalities including joint mobilizations, myofascial release, positional release, muscle energy technique and neuromuscular techniques to achieve structural balance. Although not advertised as Sports massage, the processes used above greatly enhance performance and quickly return athletes to their sport. If you are booking this service, please bring a pair of shorts and a sports bra if female to your appointment.
